MAY 19, 2022 A DIFFERENT TREATMENT FOR COVID

During the last two years of the pandemic you have read about different drugs to treat COVID. Some of you might have read the very interesting articles posted on this blog, and others , like Dr Mercola’s website about supplements and herbs that have been used. You have read about Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine. I recently read an interesting article in the HerbalGram published by the American Botanical Council about Amla.

Progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and the emergence of viral variants continue to spur research on herbal therapies. Disease prevention and treatment are integral to traditional medical systems of India, China, Thailand, Persia, and others. Amla (Emblica officinalis syn. Phyllanthus emblica, Phyllanthaceae) is a traditional medical food and herbal medicine. Different parts of the plant were used. The alma plant are reported to preserve the vitality of human cells and exert adaptogenic, analgesic, anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antipyretic, antitussive, antiviral, expectorant, immunomodulatory, nootropic, and spasmolytic effects. I use alma for a variety of chronic diseases as well as cancer support in my practice.

I thought the research and study was complete I believe it allowed us to look closer at this plant. The authors concluded larger, more thorough studies are warranted. The authors had no competing interests.
