For sleep issues control the amount of caffeine and alcohol intake, exposure to bright light, and try to do some form of exercise. I would start to do breathing exercises and some form of meditation. I would try to avoid benzodiazipines ( like diazepam, clonepin and Xanax ) during this time unless you are having an acute insomnia for days.
