DECEMBER 6, 2019 DIETARY FIBER

Not many health care practitioners want to discuss dietary fiber. Does your doctor know about dietary fiber? Or does he suggest a supplement for fiber? Dietary fiber is known as bulk or roughage. This provides very little to no nutrients. It also contains plant cellulose and other indigestible material in foods. With this is pectin and gum ( no not chewing gum )

The act of chewing of dietary fiber stimulates the saliva flow which helps the stomach and intestines more time to absorb. You need dietary fiber in your life. A diet with sufficient dietary fiber produces softer, bulkier stools and more regularity.

So what can you add to your dietary lifestyle to help, Since I avoid gluten I add lots of nuts and seeds, cabbage twice a week , and lots of fruits and vegetables. You have to eat more fruits and vegetables based on an Ig G ( gut related allergy test) The ideal amount is 20 =- 60 grams / day in the form of food or soluble fiber.

I work with some amazing naturopathic doctors that who are also certified in nutrition. I usually recommend seeing one of these professionals to get the personalized nutrition that is needed.

Until tomorrow…
