Dr. Thea Marx
Dr. Marx received her doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Bridgeport School where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was the recipient of the faculty award for excellence in Naturopathic Philosophy. The University of Bridgeport doctoral program is a fully accredited four-year, in-residence, hands-on medical program consisting of more than 4,100 hours of class and clinical training. She is educated in biomedical sciences as well as the latest advances in combination with natural approaches to therapy, disease prevention and clinical techniques. In addition to a standard medical curriculum, she also completed four years of training in the disciplines of clinical nutrition, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and counseling.
Dr. Marx specializes in precision medicine utilizing the techniques and programs of Dr. Peter D’Adamo whom she studied under for eight semesters. She analyzes genetic variances and creates patient centered nutritional plans to address those variances to influence the expression of disease, mental and emotional imbalances and positively increase overall general health at the genetic level. She works with patients who experience ADHD, anxiety, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, cardiovascular issues as well as other internal medicine concerns. Dr. Marx has clinical experience in emergency medicine, women’s health, oncology, nutrigenomics, physical medicine, homeopathy and general family medicine. She feels strongly about providing medical care to those in need and has spent countless hours at drug rehab centers and public clinics as well as the Lifeline Clinic in Epikuro, Namibia, caring for the local San population.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Marx has a passion for the outdoors and the flora and fauna that inhabit it. She enjoys horseback riding, travel, cooking, reading, the arts and has earned advanced belt ranks in Tae Kwon Do.She attributes her passion for life and nature as well as her work ethic to her upbringing on a cattle ranch on the Wind River Indian Reservation in central Wyoming. She has a daughter, Aspen, and lives in Connecticut with her dogs, cats and birds.
