The blood supply to the heart (a muscle) are the coronary
arteries. There are both left and right coronary arteries with
their own respective branches. The leading cause of
cardiovascular disease is caused by atherosclerosis hardening of
the arteries). These plaques consist of cholesterol, platelets,
calcium and other components.
There are today many new conventional treatments for “blocked
arteries” including angioplasty, atherectomy, stents and even
coronary artery bypass surgery.
There are key points to remember:
- The process of atherosclerosis begins with fatty streaks
at the age of 2. The key is prevention should begin at age
of 40 especially with a strong family history
- Everyone with heart disease should follow an
anti-inflammatory ( alkaline ) diet
- Thirty to forty five minutes of exercise accumulated
over the length of a day three times a week will reduce your

cholesterol
- Measure your triglyceride level. Remember the higher the
triglycerides, the lower the good (HDL) cholesterol
- Cholesterol is not the only cardiac risk factor. The
other risk factors include homocysteine, fibrinogen,
lipoprotein@ , testosterone, ferritin and high sensitive
CRP.
- Drink adequate amounts of water
- Take anti oxidants, herbs and vita nutrients for your
heart which should not be self administered but prescribed
by a health care professional
